RLR Associates, a sports agency based in New York City that represents baseball managers and broadcasters, has signed first-year Reds skipper Bob Boone. Maury Gostfrand, vice president with RLR Associates, said the firm was in the preliminary stages of building its game plan for Boone, a strategy that will hopefully deliver some sponsorship and marketing opportunities in radio and/or television. Gostfrand said he's talking with Fox Sports Net about a short interview show to be broadcast during Reds games, but "everything is really premature at this point. Bob's main focus is baseball right now, and we're not about to take away from that." Boone already does a regular interview spot with WLW AM-700, flagship station of the Reds. RLR Associates was founded in the 1960s by Bob Rosen and represents baseball announcer Tim McCarver, college basketball announcer/guru Billy Packer and others.
