Tim is in his 16th year as an announcer for CBS Sports. His play-by-play duties include the
NCAA Tournament and the NFL on CBS. Tim also serves as the host of College Football Today
and At The Half, CBS Sports' college basketball halftime studio show. In 1997 he called
play-by-play for CBS Sports' college football coverage. His other responsibilities include calling
SEC and ACC basketball broadcasts for Jefferson Pilot and handling play-by-play duties for
FoxSportsNet’s Sunday night ACC college basketball package.
On June 15th, 2011 it was announced that CBS Sports Network will launch "the Tim Brando Show"
live on television. It is set to debut in August 2011.
Brando also serves as a TV announcer for New Orleans Saints preseason games.
Previously Tim called play-by-play for SEC football and basketball games, as well SportSouth
Television's coverage of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and the MLB's Atlanta Braves. He has called
more than 25 different sports during career, and was a studio host for "SportsCenter," ESPN's
college football halftime show (1986-94) and ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Men's Basketball
Championship (1987-90). In 1994 Tim served as the play-by-play announcer for TNT during the
NBA Playoffs.
Tim graduated from Northeast Louisiana in 1978 with a degree in radio/television management.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1956, in Shreveport, La. Tim currently resides in his Shreveport, with
his wife, Terri, and two daughters, Tiffany and Tara.
