Jeff Rickard is an Emmy nominated sports broadcaster who has over 20 years of broadcasting
experience as a play-by-play announcer and a host, including 15 years of various college football
and basketball play-by-play assignments.
Currently, Jeff is a host of a fantasy baseball show on Sirius/XM Radio as well as a regular host
on ESPN Radio. Immediately before that, he was the host of CN8’s daily sports recap show Out
of Bounds, where he reported on the days’ news in sports and moderated a roundtable discussion
with other sports journalists.
Before coming to CN8, Jeff could be heard on ESPN Radio’s nightly broadcast of GameNight for
which he was awarded Radio Personality of the Year from “SI.com’s 2006 Media Awards.” During
that time, Jeff was a frequent guest host on the Mike and Mike Show and The Dan Patrick Show
on ESPN Radio.
Prior to joining ESPN Radio, Jeff hosted a nationally syndicated sports talk show on Sporting
News Radio.
From 1999-2004 Jeff was the television studio host for KJZZ TV’s coverage of the Utah Jazz as
well as the University of Utah football and basketball. During that time, he was also the play-by-play
voice for the Utah Starzz of the WNBA.
Prior to that, Jeff was a studio host for KKFN Sports Radio in Denver, CO. While at “The Fan,”
Jeff was the studio host for the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche, as well as the
play-by-play commentator for the MLS Colorado Rapids. He was also a play-by-play man at Fox
Sports Rocky Mountain for their coverage of the Western Athletic Conference.
Jeff attended Mesa State College in 1985 where he was a member of the football team that played
for two NAIA championships. He resides in Connecticut with his wife and his two sons.
