Dave Ryan is known as one of the most versatile sports broadcasters in the business. Currently,
Dave is the lead play by play broadcaster for CBS College Sports Network where he covers a
variety of programming for the network, including football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and
lacrosse. Prior to joining CBS College, Dave was at ESPN for 13 years, where he appeared on
over 1200 shows and covered over 20 sports for ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN Classic, ESPNU and
ESPN Radio.  
As a play by play announcer, anchor, and reporter, Dave has covered the NHL, MLB, College
Football, College Basketball, the Little League World Series and the College World Series, among
In 2003, he received an Emmy Award for ESPN’s coverage of the Little League World Series. 
Before his time at ESPN, Dave was first the Weekend Sports Anchor and then the Sports Director 
at WSTM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Syracuse, New York. While at WSTM, Dave was also the host of
“Syracuse Football Focus” and was a play by play announcer for Super Sports, a regional cable
In addition to his broadcasting duties, Dave is an adjunct faculty member at Syracuse University's
Newhouse School of Public Communications. He helped to create and run "Sportscaster U" a
minicourse in sports broadcasting for professional athletes who want to become broadcasters.
