Zimmer: Preparation H pitchman By Don Cronin, USA TODAY
With a week left in spring training, most major league coaching staffs are on the hot seat. But Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer isn't taking it sitting down. Zimmer has become a pitchman for the hemorrhoid treatment Preparation H and is featured in a new TV spot that will air nationally. The 30-second spot is set in a baseball dugout. Gary Thorne, an ESPN baseball announcer, gives the play-by-play as Zimmer becomes uncomfortable, then seeks relief. "When I was approached by Preparation H, I thought this was a natural fit for me since I do use the product," Zimmer said. "I also saw this as a great opportunity to poke a little fun at myself while being able to help others that are afflicted by this ailment." Contributing: Staff and wire reports
