McCarver to Call Giants
Games
Wednesday January 30 4:31 PM ET
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Tim McCarver, a baseball
analyst for Fox Sports and a former All-Star catcher, will
join the San Francisco Giants' broadcast team this season.
McCarver, who won an Emmy last year as the
top sports event analyst, will broadcast approximately 25
games with Mike Krukow on the Giants' flagship station, KTVU-TV.
He has been Fox's lead baseball analyst since
1996, and he worked last season's All-Star game with Joe
Buck. He was an analyst for the New York Mets from 1983
through 1998 and the New York Yankees from 1999 through last
season.
``I have been broadcasting for teams in New
York the past 19 years, so I look for this to be a new and
exciting experience for me,'' McCarver said. ``San Francisco
is such a wonderful city with such a large and knowledgeable
fan base.''
McCarver played 21 seasons in the major
leagues, winning two World Series with the St. Louis
Cardinals.
