Tara Petrolino is a dynamic broadcaster who can fill a variety of roles, including reporter,
host, play-by-play broadcaster and game analyst.   Currently, Tara is the host of MSG
Varsity’s“High School Journal,” and “Don McPherson’s Training for Life”. She also serves
as a play-by-play announcer, analyst, and sideline reporter for a variety high school
sports games MSG Varsity, and pens the column, “The Varsity Letter”, for msgvarsity.com.
In addition to her work for MSG Varsity, Tara can be seen on a variety of networks covering
Northeast Conference basketball as a reporter and game analyst. 

Before joining MSG Varsity, Tara worked for Service Electric Cable TV’s Channel 10 in
New Jersey, Time Warner Cable’s SI76 in Staten Island, and CUNY-TV in New York City,
serving as play by play announcer and sideline reporter for high school sports.  She was
also a correspondent for SI76’s “On The Beat.” Tara began her career off-camera at the
National Basketball Association, where she served as production assistant on numerous
NBA productions.

Tara is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of The Catholic University of America in
Washington, D.C., where she earned a degree in Media Studies with minors in English
Rhetoric and Philosophy, and was a member of the women’s basketball team. While in
college, she served as an analyst for Catholic University men’s basketball games and
worked as reporter and public address announcer for the University’s athletics department.
 
Tara currently resides in New Jersey.
